(SRI) - Kazakhstan exported 5.204 million tons of oil and gas condensate in January, up 16.7 percent compared to the same period last year, the State Statistical Agency reported. Export revenues in January amounted to $2.756 billion.

 (SRI) - Kazakhstan’s flag carrier Air Astana reported a record profit of $47 million on revenues of $546 million for 2009, up 176 percent from 2008, according to the company’s unaudited financial statements.

Omurbek Tekebaev, head of the Ata-Meken (Fatherland) party and a former parliamentary speaker, told RFE/RL he was leaving the opposition-organized People's Congress in Bishkek when his car was stopped by police officers.

The kurultai (meeting) of the opposition forces, which took place on March 17 in Bishkek, was concluded by the document, outlining the requirements for the Kyrgyz government to be performed until March 24, 2010.
